after the periods over can i not just wipe the hair in other words called mas7 in arabic ,or do i have to wash the hair fullyAfter the period can i not just wipe my hair with water or do i have to wash it all?
Wash it fully. If you're talking about for the purposes of praying, you're supposed to remove it/shave it off completely so it shouldn't be an issue any way. After the period can i not just wipe my hair with water or do i have to wash it all?
This question makes no sense.
You have to wash the hair fully. Infact you have to do ghusl (bath) right after your period.
wat period?
Huh?

Can you explain more clearly please.

What is the difference between washing clothes in cold and hot water?

What is the difference between washing clothes in cold and hot water? What is the difference between washing clothes in cold and hot water?
Well, besides a 30% difference in your energy bill.......I prefer to use warm water. Hot will set stains unless you are using bleach for whites. Cold doesn't remove all the soil and odors from fabric. The only time I use cold is when washing black or very dark colors. Something else to consider is many times, detergents will ';stick'; to fabric in cold water, causing you to use more water to re-rinse the clothes. What is the difference between washing clothes in cold and hot water?
Hot water is harder on clothes but does get them cleaner, and is usually only meant for whites and colour fast. Cold water doesn't stretch the fibres like hot water would. But apparently Tide's Cold water works really well. I have yet to try it on my whites but a friend has said it really works well and she feels liker her clothes aren't as dull as before. Cold water also sets colour so that about all I know, good luck with whatever you need for this question
Cold: doesn't shrink clothes very much. Also the dye in the clothes stays IN the clothes, and doesn't bleed as much. Sometimes cold water doesn't dissolve soap well so you have to add laundry second (top loading model).

Hot: gets out more dirt. More likely to kill off any germies. But releases tons of dye and can shrink clothes.
Your laundry detergent will work best removing dirt and such at a warmer temperture. It was designed this way.

Even the cold water laundry detergent isn't designed for Canadian cold water. Its designed for a warmer climate cold water.

But both will still clean your clothes!
A higher electric bill from heating the water.

I always wash my clothes in cold water and have never had a problem getting them clean. If you use proper stain pre-removal you won't either.
i always just cram everything in the washer and crank the hot water button and let it wash,, saves water and time
Hot water - Removes dirt %26amp; oil base stains

Cold water - I prefer to use for colors to prevent some fading.
hot is for white clothes and adding bleach...and cold for washing colored / dark clothes. so they don't shrink....but some new soaps allow u to wash colored/ dark or whites in cold water
In Hot water, it's easier to remove hard dirt from your laundry.

Water drips into my washing machine (Kenmore) tub when it is not turned on. Can I fix this myself & how?

For a quick fix just shut off the water hot and cold faucets connected to the washer. The problem is you water valve is bad and they can drip or downright just run wide open. annoying aint it? a water valve is less than 20 bucks and east to replace. If it is a newer model then the cabinet is removed easily from the washer exposing the innards and it is an easy fix. If it is an older model kenmore then you need to pop the top to get to the valve. In both cases the water hoses will need to be removed from the valve, unplug the harness and take the 5/16 screws loose and replace it with a new one. This is an easy fix.Water drips into my washing machine (Kenmore) tub when it is not turned on. Can I fix this myself %26amp; how?
He is right. Water valve is not shutting off.

  • Is it advisable to get a fully automatic cloth washing machine even if our water tap has poor flow rate?

Can you suggest me the model along with your experience? Is it advisable to get a fully automatic cloth washing machine even if our water tap has poor flow rate?
It is not at all advisable to by a fully automatic cloth washing machine if your water tap has poor flow rate. The fully automatic machines are programmed to fill in a certain specific time and in case of poor flow rate it will stop and again you will be required to restart again. This way the whole purpose of having a fully automatic washing machine will be defeated. So it is not advisable to have fully automatic washing machine. Is it advisable to get a fully automatic cloth washing machine even if our water tap has poor flow rate?
The washer will fill to the proper level, even with a low flow rate. The problem is with the rinse cycle. The fill level will take longer, but a sensor will activate the agitator when the set level is reached, but the rinse cycle is timed, and less water will be spraying over the load as it spins. you may have to repeat the rinse cycle after the load runs.

I don't think any particular brand/model is built to express this trouble.

There is water dripping inside of my washing machine. Is it time for a new one?

The machine is about 10 years old. For about a month I could get the dripping the stop but I finally had to shut the water off this morning because it filled up with about 4 inches of water overnight. There is water dripping inside of my washing machine. Is it time for a new one?
It sounds like all you need is a new solinoid valve. It is an electricly controlled valve that opens when it is in the fill mode. It is inside the cabinet and on the back. The hoses connect directly to it. Look in the phone book for an appliance repair shop and give them the model number and manufacturer for the washer and they ';should'; be able to get the part for you. You can also have it repaired and should not cost too much. Check out the links below. the 2nd one is a picture of a ';typical'; valve for a Whirlpool brand washer. Personally, I do not think you need a new machine. Most washers nowadays should last 10-15 years. There is water dripping inside of my washing machine. Is it time for a new one?
You could either pay to get it fixed or you could buy a new one.
Yeah, sure. You need a new washing machine. The water dripping from inside your washing machine may damage the electric wirings and may cause serious damage to you.
Isn't a washing machine supposed to leak water?

Is it better to wash hair in hot or cold water?

please explain why you pickd hot or coldIs it better to wash hair in hot or cold water?
';It doesn鈥檛 matter because the effects are barely noticeable. However, experts say to wash hair in hot or warm water to help remove dirt and build-up and to rinse hair in cool water to close the cuticle and add shine.';Is it better to wash hair in hot or cold water?
hot water dries out your hair and cold is better

if you do shower with hot water then before you get out of the shower than rinse your whole head with super cold water so it doesn't dry it out and it makes your hair super shiny.

so yeah cold is definitely better.
Wash and rinse with warm/hot, then after you rinse out the shampoo with warm or hot water, rinse it with cold.

The cold keeps it from breaking and tearing, and things like that.
Wash in hot water to properly clean the follicles and rinse the conditioners out with cool water so that the conditioner can bond to the hair better.
I've heard cold is better because it gives your hair a little more shine, but I don't understand why.

It might have to do with how heat damages your hair.

    But idk =p
i have read that its better to use cold because it helps lock in moisture.. and when I use cold water my hair seems really shiny and soft.
shampoo in warm, rinse in the coolest water you can stand.

I asked if I should wash the meat, I meant rinse with cold water.?

Jst wanted to clear that up lolI asked if I should wash the meat, I meant rinse with cold water.?
I wash poultry and fish, but then pat dry with paper towels right afterwards..beef I don't...poultry and seafood is notorius for having surface bacteria on it, which a good rinse washes this away..I asked if I should wash the meat, I meant rinse with cold water.?
Definately always rinse poultry with cold water - it really doesn't matter if you used warm water since its probably going right into the pan, but if your washing your chicken and then storing it (ex: marinade), cold water :) The only issue with warm water is that it raises the temperature of the meat and allows for bacterial production if the meat sits out after that. I never rinse my steaks, but you can, it won't hurt them but it will rinse away any surface blood that would be more tasty if left to simmer in the pan.
I have always heard to rinse it to get any bone dust off of it. I never do it, though.
    i agree with knowitall...

Can you get washing machines that heat their own water?

My washing machine takes in hot water and cold water, whereas my dishwasher takes in cold water and heats it up to the required temperature. Since I have a temperamental hot water supply this sometimes means my clothes are washed in cold water.

Does such a thing exist as a washing machine that takes in cold water and heats it up itself to the required temperature?

Please don't just say 'get your hot water fixed'. I really want to know about washing machines... makes and models would be fab!Can you get washing machines that heat their own water?
Most washing machines these days have only cold water fill and the water heats to the temp. you want. I bought a Indesit with a cold water fill. If you are viewing machines on the web check the details of the machine to see if it is a cold water fillCan you get washing machines that heat their own water?
    yes my Hotpoint does
Where have you been, they all do, Hoover, Hotpoint, Philips, Bendix, Zanussi, Bosch etc etc.
Just disconnect the red pipe to the washing machine. It will then take in only cold and heat it to whatever temperature you have set.
All washing machines (yours included) are able to heat their own water. Connect both the inlet hoses to the cold water supply (you will need a 'Y' connector available from plumbers merchants and places like B%26amp;Q) and the machine will heat the water, however, the wash cycle will take longer to finish.

All new washing machines are now cold fill only.

    Hope this helps
Most new washing machines heat their own water now!

I've had my Indesit washer for about a year and it has a cold water inlet only!
I think most of them do....
Our Ariston Margherita washing machine heats the water from cold unless you select the hottest wash option. If you do a 30 or 40 degree wash, you should get a cold fill.
All modern machines take in both Hot and Cold water.

The Cold water is heated to whatever temperature you want your 'smalls' washed at by setting the 'wash cycle'.
yes i have a Bosch washing machine and its cold fill and heats up the water you would think for the 499 pounds i paid for it it would be a hot and cold fill but alas its cold fill only lol my machine is a bosch classixx 1400 express
Yes most of the new washing machines now have only a cold inlet pipe I have a hotpoint and it only has a cold inlet pipe.

My father -in - law has a beko washing machine which he bought a couple of weeks ago and that only has cold inlet aswell .

most of the washing powders now wash better at a lower temp so you don't need to have the hot inlet.
in europe every washing mashine heats up the water itself and the laundry mashines too.
we have a hotpoint one that just cold fill it is fab saves energy and less lime scale would'nt get hot and cold again
Hi there, just before christmas my washing machine packed in so I was recommended to get a Zanussi which I did for around 拢250. Can check on make and model and get back to you but it heats its own water, I know this for a fact because it only has a cold water inlet pipe. Its a great machine, best machine I've had in about 14 years and I've been through 4 (I'm jinxed). Hope this helps!
my sister in law has just had a washing machine from argos the cheapest is all she could buy with her money and that only has a cold water inlet and heats the water up at the necessary temperature
yeah! there all over the place over in California, US If you have a Sears near you you can get one there.
When you go for your machine just tell them that you want coldfill.
All new washing machines use cold water only they have 1 water connection and heat the water themselves. It prevents putting too hot water in the machine.
All washing machines in the UK heat their own water, most, if not all are now cold fill only anyway. It's more energy efficient.
all washing machines now have hot and cold in lets , so if you have heated water it will use it and mix it with cold to get the desired temp , if not it will heat it up

Do we need to wash our face with cold water or hot water??

i dunno which 1 is better for our face..

can any1 help me??Do we need to wash our face with cold water or hot water??
Not too cold. Not too hot. So that there is blood circulation and all the tiny dirt can be removed. Do we need to wash our face with cold water or hot water??
just like D.Anny said: lukewarm water. it helps freshen up the face although many people believe that cold water freshens up the face. it will help losen up your face muscles, prevent skin from toughening and wrinkling up and also from drying up. it's always important to have a soft face so as to block pimples from forming. dry faces also contribute to wrinkles (and we don't want that!). it's weird how cold water can lead to all this. stick with lukewarm to a little less than hot- to open up pores and to soften and relax skin muscles and skin itself.
I would say lukewarm water. Actually it it good to rinse your face in lukewarm water, and then instantly splash it with cold water. This ';shocks'; your face and tightens your pores.
not hot and not cold. just warm. i've found that putting hot water on my face hurts, and cold water makes my face really shiny...

  • Maytag Washing Machine not getting hot water?

Could a bad Water Temperature Switch cause the hot water to barely drip into my Maytag washing machine? I can only get cold water, and when I switch to hot, the water barely drips in. Hoses are not clogged (I checked), faucets tested and working fine.

All advice appreciated.Maytag Washing Machine not getting hot water?
I would say that it is the Water Valve. If this is the case you can get the part from your Maytag dealer. I replaced mine in July of 2004 and the part cost me $30.40 with tax. The part came with a instruction sheet on how to replace the part. If you don't get the instruction sheet ask you dealer if he can print you one out. It will take you about an hour of time to replace the part if you have never done this kind of work before. The part you need is called a universal water valve.Maytag Washing Machine not getting hot water?
Take the screen out of the inlet to the hot water, located on the back of the machine. This is what the hose is hooked to. I would bet that it's loaded with scum and corrosion from the hot water, iron bacteria.

If it is take it out and soak it with CLR or the ';Works'; you'll find a big difference.
check the screen on the hose that lets the hot water to the machine sometimes it gets full of sand.

If you wash a jacket that is 40% polyester 60% cotton with COLD water and then HANG to dry, will it shrink?

Thanks =]If you wash a jacket that is 40% polyester 60% cotton with COLD water and then HANG to dry, will it shrink?
Definitely not. Much to my wife's dismay I love polyester shirts. I wash them all cold/cold and hang them dry. They last much longer than my cotton shirts that I dry.If you wash a jacket that is 40% polyester 60% cotton with COLD water and then HANG to dry, will it shrink?
no it wont there is enough polyester content to keep it from shrinking make sure you use cold water . also use fabric softener in rinse cycle , you may dry on delicate cycle in dryer . i do it every other day in my dry cleaners.
It won't shrink. It will only shrink if you put it in the dryer cuz the heat will shrink it.
I don't think it will shrink if you wash in cold - rinse in cold and hang to dry.

    Good luck

I washed some white laundry in cold water. Will the cold water destroy it?

I am incredibly stupid. Why didn't I remember to press the ';hot'; button on the console so that the computer knew what temperature water to use?

They're all cotton items, and not terribly dirty.I washed some white laundry in cold water. Will the cold water destroy it?
It won't bother the white laundry at all.

Don't feel bad: I've been known to slip like that at times too!I washed some white laundry in cold water. Will the cold water destroy it?
Cold water will not hurt your clothes. But there is less chance of removing body oils with cold. You may need a dryer sheet or fabric softener to help remove orders that did not wash out in cold.

I use a little bleach in whites, but there are some materials that bleach may turn yellow. So check out the label first. Don't put stained clothes in the dryer. The dryer heat makes it harder to get the stain out, and you may be stuck with a stain.
Should be fine. You only use hot if you need to sterilize your cottons or if they are really dirty %26amp; need bleached, or need shrunken.
You actually did them some good!

Different 'dirts' have different staining effects on clothing. Blood, for instance, almost *requires* rinsing in cold water as soon as possible to successfully remove it from staining clothing. Loose, non-staining 'dirt' can easily be rinsed away by water, but if the 'dirt' has an oil or greasy component to it, it must first be attacked by a neutralizing hydrocarbon to turn the oily stain into one that a detergent can neutralize more completely.

How well a detergent can remove a stain depends upon the 'staying power' of the staining chemical makeup. Some stains (on white materials) require a strong bleaching solution to remove them. Other stains, such as, indelible marking ink, canNOT be removed.
water is poor solvent, dish detergent is creating small bobble each bobble pick-up one portion of dirt and caries it out to surface, like your plastic sandwich bag carie your launch.

Any suggestions on how to get rid of head lice that my daughter has contracted. We live in Japan where laundry is washed in cold water and dried on a line. ?
Probably best would be to go see a pedeatrician or skin doctor first, they would prescribe the best medicine. You could also go to the pharmacie and ask for a shampoo or medicine to get rid of ';shirami';(head lice) the medicine/shampoo is: スミスリンパウダーやスミスリンシャンプー(sumisu rin powder/ sumisu rin shampoo)

here is a web site to see what the product looks like:

    http://www.est.hi-ho.ne.jp/abes/hyakkaen…

when using the shampoo, you wash the hair and leave 5 minutes, then rinse out. use the shampoo every 2 days.

problem is products publically available in pharmacies are not enough to get rid of the eggs, I strongly suggest you visit a doctor first.

If you're having any language problems, contact your local city hall or internation center, many will provide an interpreter fo free.

  • Why does the blac t shirt say to wash in warm water when everyone says cold?

I just bought a brand new black t shirt and i really dont want it to fade anytime soon. The shirt says to wash in warm water but when i read in the other posts on here, about 99% of the people that posted said to wash in cold water? I want this shirt to shrink a little and definitely not to fade at all before i wear it, can and should i wash it in a bucket of COLD or HOT water with some woolite then throw it in the dryer to tumble dry low? And other than buying the special dark only detergents (which only works for a little while), what is the best way to keep it from fading? Someone said to soak in vinegar (before wash or after washing then wash it again after soak)? Or might be playing a joke...Why does the blac t shirt say to wash in warm water when everyone says cold?
shirt labels are general labels usually used on all color even white , if you wash in warm it will fade, shrinkage can also happen in dryer sometimes. Why does the blac t shirt say to wash in warm water when everyone says cold?
because it can run or fade. i'd wash it in warm and with other darks. tumble dry it by itself for a few minutes, remove and let it dry overnight on a hanger or place it flat on a towel.
The shirt says warm most likely because the washing instructions are based on what the material is made out of, not what color it is. For example, If I buy the same shirt made by the same company, in white, red, yellow, and black, the washing instructions will all be the same. However, unless you want to turn everything pinkish brown you wouldn't want to was them in warm water.

You are probably just fine to use the washing machine. Wash it in COLD water with dark/like colors. If you wash it in warm (especially the first time) the colors will bleed for sure.

You can definitely use one of those special dark color detergents it you like....i never do, but that's just because I'm cheap. My blacks look good....still black...but black doesn't last forever, it will eventually fade!
I think cold ,i wash all colored things in cold and only all white stuff in hot. but you should you that woolite Dark detergent
well washing it at all is going to make it fade eventualy but to make it fade the sloweest cold water is better than warm

but warm or hot will help it shrink that little bit that you wanted
Listen to the shirt - it knows what it wants.

How can I REALLY get the smell of garlic from my hands and nails? I've tried washing them in cold water,?

salt and lemon juice. Even after I've had a bath, the smell is still on my fingers. How can I REALLY get the smell of garlic from my hands and nails? I've tried washing them in cold water,?
take a stainless steel teaspoon and use it under cold water as if it were a bar of soap, it will work for garlic or onions. i have a round pebble of steel bought from a cookware shop, its called steel soap and its made for this purpose, but a spoon works equally well

Ex chefHow can I REALLY get the smell of garlic from my hands and nails? I've tried washing them in cold water,?
well if you apply a cream that smells nice then it should go, i cook a lot of the time and after washing my hands with dove, i use garnier hand cocoon (orange colour) its brilliant !!
I got one of those stainless steel bars of soap and it really works - dont ask me how, but it does!
    Lemon juice
Stainless steel spoon and lemon juice.
I cant stand this problem, as the smell is thre for days afterwards! I was told once to rub my hands on something stainless steel, but i have never found this to work. so really my nswer is pretty useless...apologies :)
just rub them across the faucet of your sink. Stainless steal has a compound that will neutralize the odor. Or, make a paste with lemon juice and baking soda. By by, odor!
i find that lemon scented fairy liquid works esp if you rub the liquid in to dry hands
Ugh. I hate garlic. How people can eat it I don't know. It is revolting and I don't eat anything that contains it.I can't eat Branston pickle because of the garlic taste.Suggest you use something like bleach and for goodness sake don't touch the stuff again.
Rub your hands on something stainless steel and that will get the smell gone
Hello, if you eat garlic ,to rid your breath of the smell you munch on some celery.this clears any offensive odours.Im sure if you rubbed celery into your hands ,it would have the same affect.
Do you have any essential oils in the house? if you do put some in a bowl of water and soak your hands for a bout 10mins. :)
Stainless steel spoon and lemon juice.
rub it on stainless steel, like your sink! it works for me every time with garlic and onions! i don't know why but it does!
Try something easy: Antibacterial Hand Sanitizer (I think the alcohal smell and solution should knock out the smell)
if u eat garlic chewing fresh parsley will get rid of sewer breath i find rubbing fresh chopped parsley into your hands will do the trick it works 4 me
    ewwwww? stinky breath!!

Washing machine leaks when spinning, water comes out the bottom left though have checked machine -?

internally, it is all bone dry, all the hoses, soap dispenser, waste hose etc are all fine, as is the door seal. Where is the water coming from? I have heard it may be from the seal inside the machine on the door or the pump, however surely they would show evidence of water/damp??

Plumber :)Washing machine leaks when spinning, water comes out the bottom left though have checked machine -?
Since you're talking about a door seal, I'm assuming you have a front-load washer. There are a few places that I typically find leaks on front load washers:

    All models:

You can sometimes get a tear in the door seal. Check all around the seal with a flashlight.

The rear bearing/seal may be going out. This is a large repair. Try to get a look at the back of the machine where the big drive pulley is located.

Check for a crack in the tub (shell). Especially if it has been making a lot of noise lately. This is another large repair.

    Frigidaire (Kenmore model 417.... )

Occationally the bolts holding the two pieces of the tub (shell) will start to come loose. Generally it will only leak during the high speed spin. Just tighten all of the bolts (3/8';) and your back in business.

Hope one of these helps.Washing machine leaks when spinning, water comes out the bottom left though have checked machine -?
Same thing happened with mine - one of my babies socks stuck in filter. Easy job - or looked easy - my mate done it in 5 minutes
left hand side is usually the soap draw could be water trapped around the soap draw take the soap draw out and give it a clean and the check the space where the soap draw fits and clean that out it could be as simple as that
It is usually splashing over in teh soap dispenser, take the dispenser out and give it a wash.
Your door seal has a hole in it and is only coming out when the pressure builds in the spinning.

Get the plumber or if on an insurance get it repaired.
That happened to me. I called in a plumber he unplugged the washing machine and took of the top and what it was, their is a hose connected to the drum and it had come of what he done was to push it back in. this sometimes happens because of the spinning and vibration. just a suggestion could be wrong good luck.
Bad water pump 98% of time..Unless it is a GE then you at a Bad tranny
Have a good feel around the door seal, not on the outside, but between the door and the drum, the chances are you will find a small hole or tear in it. Depending on the make and model the cost varies, but if that the problem, well worth getting repaired.
have you tried opening the little door at the bottom right hand side of the washer inside is what looks like a control knob about 1 3/4'; dia unscrew that take out the filter clean it and put it back then try the spinner good luck
This can happen when you have a sock stuck in the pump and the water can't get through.
Could just be that the tub gets off balance while it's spinning. Try re-distributing the clothes a little more evenly and see if that helps. If not, you might need to have a plumber come and check it out.
look at the back of the drum at the top there may be a hole where a rubber grommet should be this would be indicated by the fact water only leaks on spin cycle as water is only thrown that high whilst spinning

A water well washed out completely under my house?

my dad owns this old house that was built in the late 1800 or early 1900's. the well is right behind the house but the last guy who went down in it said it was washed out completely all around and to never send anyone else back down there. is there anything i can do to fix this, iam worried my land will cave in. also doesthis bring my property value down?A water well washed out completely under my house?
You really need to abandon this well and have a new one drilled. I have been in well pits like this. A safety harness is always a must when entering a pit well for that reason. You need to have the pump removed, well filled with chips, top pulled off the pit and filled with sand. This well is very dangerous the way it is. If you have a new well already, it is illegal to leave it the way it is.A water well washed out completely under my house?
It sounds like you need to abandon your existing well and fill it with sand. Don't use dirt, because it won't compact properly. Sand with a little bit of water will settle in the hole and firm up the walls of your well.

Laundry washing machine is leaking water?

I have a 3 year old LG washing machine and is leaking water from the bottom and I don't know what is wrong...Any Ideas? Thanks!Laundry washing machine is leaking water?
the gasket has probably worn out

time to get a repair manLaundry washing machine is leaking water?
I had a Whirlpool that did that, a week later it would not drain, then it died.
The only thing you can do is look for obvious leaks. I would never buy a LG appliance because they are monopolized and you cant buy parts or get information on them unless you are in their click.
If you work with screws or nails check the bottom of your tub (inside). Run your hand around the entire thing to make sure nothing got stuck through the holes. Nails and screws puncture holes...it happened to mine when my boyfriend thought he'd help himself by washing his clothes in my machine. Now I have a new machine. Good luck.
My washing machine was leaking from the bottom. I can't remember its make but I decided to unscrew the back and look before calling a repairman. There was so much lint and stuff blocking it, once I cleared it, the leaking stopped. It is worth a try, even if you don't have the machine instruction manual.

How to get water thats stuck in the washing machine out?

I went to wash some dirty rags and about 10 minutes later the washing machine didn't sound right so I went to check and i took the wet rags out. There was water where the clothes are supposed to be Now I can't get the water out.How to get water thats stuck in the washing machine out?
All washing machines drain on the same principle. to make a long explanation short try this. Take the washer away from the wall.Take the drain line for the washer out of the drain riser in or on the wall. Lower the drain to the floor, and below the wash basins bottom.Gravity should do the rest. Hope this helps. How to get water thats stuck in the washing machine out?
Try just setting on spin cycle. If that doesn't work, start bailing.

    Good luck!
I dont exactly understand the question, but if you go to http://appliancequickfix.com/ they have a step by step on how to find out
simple!!! just set it too the spin cycle or the shortest cycle you have on your washing machine or just put it on any cycle and move the dial until it i almost where it usually is when the wash is about 5 minutes from finishing so that it will start from there and the water will be pumped out!!!!

    good luck!
If the spin cycle doesn't do it, then you have faulty pump or a clogged drain line.

  • Los Angeles county DWP water conservation...when can i wash my car?

On the site it only says that I can water my plants on Mondays and Thursdays. It also says that its illegal to wash your car without a nozzle to turn off the hose. It doesn't say anything about a certain day or time you can wash your car.

But I've been hearing that you can't wash your car at all, or that you can only wash it after 5pm. What's the deal? When can i wash my car?Los Angeles county DWP water conservation...when can i wash my car?
Well 鈥?I understand your problem. And it鈥檚 being faced by all Southern Californians. However, we need to understand that our fresh water levels have dropped alarmingly. Therefore, we all have to make a conscious effort to save water however we can. Avoid washing your car too often. In case it鈥檚 very important use grey water or rain water to wash it. At least this way you would not be wasting fresh water. The water shortage situation in California will only improve if we make a collective effort to save water. Here are some more tips on water conservation that might be helpful - http://www.bewaterwise.com/tips01.html .Los Angeles county DWP water conservation...when can i wash my car?
The problem is that they have not made it simple. First you have to determine if you live in the city or LA, the county of LA or an unincorporated county of LA, because the laws differ. You can do this in a Thomas guide. Areas in White are the city of LA, areas in yellow are unincorporated county of LA and the other colors are county of LA. If you live in the city of LA, we are in Phase 3 of the water conservation plan which allows you to wash your car at any time as long as there is a nozzle on the hose. If and when we move to phase 4, you will not be allowed to wash your car at all. In the county of LA and the unincorporated county you have to use a bucket to wash your car and only use a hose with a nozzle to rinse it. There are not certain days or hours. In the county and unincorporated county the fine is $ 100.00 for an infraction. I am not sure what the city of LA is charging. Hope this helps. You can find complete water info on the city and county of LA sites.

When I wash my makeup brush, i get this bluish water from the brush.?

I have a mineral makeup brush from physician's formula, and Peter Thomas Roth.

I washed them with a soap and when I rinsed them at first, i only saw the color of the make up and then the second time, it was this dark bluish water.

i'm thinking. maybe because it's a synthetic brush?

Is this what happends when you wash a cheap brush?

I wonder where that bluish water came from. When I wash my makeup brush, i get this bluish water from the brush.?
If your brush is black the bluish stuff is most likely the dye that is coming off of your brush hairs not the actual make up- since you are doing a second wash. To get a uniform black color in any brush esp natural they have to dye it. I have both synthetic and natural hair brushes and the ones that does this the most are the natural hair ones. I don't think this has anything to do with the quality of the brush- the most expensive ( and favorite ) brush I have does this time to time. When I wash my makeup brush, i get this bluish water from the brush.?
yes probably so . Invest in an expensive brush I have one and I was it every application i use it . Still works like its brand new. and the bristles stay the way they were when i bought it. that also goes for any of your eye shadow brushes forget the ones they give you with the compartment shadows when you buy them you need to invest in your own set of brushes. and there are many for all differnt angles of the eye. take short cuts it will show. and they also will clump up and get sharp on your face not smooth so again skip the cheap stuff. its your face buy something of quality
that typically only happens when there is old makeup that hasn't been completely washed out that shows up after a couple more washes - any chance that anyone else could have used that brush besides you????
    I am a Makeup Artist.

Makeup brushes can harbor lots of dirt and bacteria, but frequent washing of your makeup brushes can keep them - and your face - clean and healthy.

Whether you have synthetic brushes or those made of hair, cleaning them is simple. First things first: eliminate excess buildup ahead of time by removing extra makeup from the brush with a piece of tissue after each use. Then, to thoroughly clean it, place the bristles in warm water and wash with a dime-sized amount of your regular shampoo or makeup brush cleaner. Rinse the brushes out several times to make sure all the cleaning solution is gone. Then, squeeze out the water with your fingers and reshape the brush head. Allow the brush to air dry by laying it flat, with the bristles over the sink basin. (Standing the brushes up to dry may damage the handle as water leaks down, and will soften the brush adhesive holding the bristles in place.) After six months to a year, or whenever your brushes start looking frayed, you may want to replace them.

If i dont wash my hair with shampoo, and only drench it with water...?

im a male with short hair, and i have wavy hair, and my style of hair is a fohawk, which is standing it up on my bangs, so i use a straightener...... but it gets to dry to style it when i wash it with shampoo, so what would happen if i didnt use shampoo when i showered and just wet it. would it get smelly?.... and since ur hair gets greasy when u dont wash it out, would it stay greasy if i just wet it?If i dont wash my hair with shampoo, and only drench it with water...?
Wash your hair dude, or it WILL smell bad and people will start standing further away from you.

Use gel to get it to stay in the style you want.If i dont wash my hair with shampoo, and only drench it with water...?
Yes, it would. Do you use conditioners after shampoos? Wetting down the hair will be clean your scalp properly, making it oily and smelly if not washed for a long time.

Try wearing a shower cap, or not wetting your hair at all when in the shower. Hair shouldn't be washed everyday anyway. Its not necessary. Moisture increases the natural curl in your hair so I wouldn't recommend wetting it since you'll be straightening it everyday. Shampoo your hair twice then condition it when you think its getting excessively oily.
well if u just use water it would give it a wet dog smell and eventually make it greasy, but try using some hair products that wont dry out your hair, the heat from the straightner is whats making it dry, theres plenty of products at stores or sallys beauty supplies that offer products to put in your hair before straightening and they have guy products aswell :D but good luck:)
yes eventually it would get smelly and greasy.. and yes it would stay greasy.. if you don't shampoo which has detergents in it, soap etc.. it will take on your bodies natural oils..

try diff gel or mousse. Get professional stuff that is usually a big factor..
just use a hydrating shampoo and conditioner so it wone make your hair so dry when you wash it. and yes, if you just wet it it will get greasy and smell.
Try using a shampoo with conditioner together for your type of hair.
i would just wash it at night and then in the morning just wet it down again

Renters insurance, flooded basement water damage from broken wash machine pipe how to file a claim??

Hello! I have State farm ins. My pipe going to my washer broke-- flooded my basement. I have never filed an insurance claim before. Any tips would appricated. No structural damage was done--all personal stuff, w/d,liter maid, lots of books and paper items also sports collectables. How do I put a value on items that I can't easily replace?? Example--Super bowl XL ticket and program?? or Bill Cohwer/Jerome Bettes signed items, both have retired from the Steelers so getting another isn't going to be easy. Thanks for any info anyone may have.Renters insurance, flooded basement water damage from broken wash machine pipe how to file a claim??
File the claim first.. You have a contractual responsibility under your insurance policy (contract to file in a timely manner.

The will ask you a list of items damaged.. tell them you are working on getting a list together.. the memorabilia.. go on line and check pricing, order it, give them a paid receipt.. and they Will pay.. you do have a replacement cost policy.. right??

then it's new for old with a paid receipt.

as for the regular personal items.. get out the local JC Penneys, Sears, whatever and go shopping.. If you don't like to.. find a Mom, gf, etc... make a list and send them.. you must know someone that likes to shop!!books.. paperbacks.. hit amazon.com.. Also make sure you have the receipt for the repair for the broken pipe repair.. keep track of everyone's time.. Sometimes, the company will count time spent against your deductible... it's worth a shot..

Get busy.Renters insurance, flooded basement water damage from broken wash machine pipe how to file a claim??
Has it entered your mind to call your insurance agent as soon as possible and ask them what you should do? That is the first thing to do, you don't hesitate and put off calling the people that are going to help you. They get paid to service you and answer all your questions. They are going to ask you WHY you waited to call them.
Call your State Farm Insurance agent and tell them what has happened. They will file a claim on your behalf and set up a telephone conversation with an adjuster to handle your claim. You will be issued a claim number which you will write down and keep for your records. This claim number is how State Farm identifies you and your claim. The adjuster will schedule a time to come out to your residence and assess the damage. He or she will then take all of the damaged items into consideration and put a monetary value on the damage and generally a check will be issued to you. Keep in mind that what you think are valuable may not seem as valuable to the insurance company. Also, depreciation is a big factor when they assess any damage. Also, keep in mind that by filing a claim usually increases your premiums. So if your claim isn't very large you may just want to reconsider. Insurance companies usually drop or blackball anyone who files more than one water claim within a certain time frame.
First of all you need to take photos and write down an inventory of what was damaged and then contact State Farm and let them know and they will send you paper work to fill out.

As far as collectables....let them know about this and they will give you a max value on these items
Call your agent, or the local State Farm Claims Number. Don't throw anything out! Honest! Not until the adjuster says it's ok.

You'll have to make a list, and see what the stuff is currently selling for on Ebay. You'll need to print out ';completed sale'; information, not ';asking price';.
I will assume you have already reported the claim to the company. If not stop what you are doing and report it as soon as possible (either call your agent or check to see if your policy documentation came with a claim hotline number). Unless the items are a health hazard, try to refrain from throwing anything out before the insurer has a chance to inspect them (if they wish to inspect them) or at the very least take detailed photos of the items before you throw them out. Either which way you will need to provide a list of the items damaged and their replacement value. As for the value for the items themselves you will have to provide proof of the value of those items, either by presenting a receipt for the items, an estimate from a reputable company as to the cost to replace those items or even an advertisement(s) which states the cost of the item(s). For those items which have an intrinsic value, you will have to provide examples of similar items that were sold and what they were sold for, or you will have to go out and get an expert's opinion as to the value of these items at the time of the loss (you will need it in writing). The insurer can either accept this, or submit a copy of their own expert's opinion of the value, however the onus is on you to prove the value.

What's better to wash your hair?... cold or hot water?

i also heard that to have a cool hair you don't have to wash it every day... is that true? What's better to wash your hair?... cold or hot water?
Warm water is better at removing stuff from hair. The rate at which you have to wash it, assuming you had perfectly cleaned it the time before, is completely dependedent on how fast your hair gets oily and uncomfortable, which is determined by genetics and personal judgement. What's better to wash your hair?... cold or hot water?
    Cold water

True, hot water will clean if faster and better. But hot water also damages your hair.

Washing in cold or evern cool water will not damage it and will give it a nice shine, depending on the product you use to wash your hair.
cold water. If u use too much like boiling water,it can barely strip some of the color out
warm..but before you leave the shower run it over feakin' cold water for a bit
warm water. hot water definately isnt good. it can dry your scalp out and cause flakes.
to wash, warm comfortable temp., cold as you can stand to rinse which closes the cuticle makes hair smoother and shinier.
    I know all about this.

First, quench your hair with warm water to open your cuticles then, wash hair good with your fave shampoo. Then, to close your cuticles rinse throughly with cold water. This will keep your hair from losing color or any other vitmins.
    Cold water
i read somewhere that it is WAY better to rinse your hair with cold water while washing it. It makes your hair straighter...and cooler...and you dont have to wash it that often...

Why does my washing machine keep getting water in it when I'm not using it.?

When I don't use my washing machine for a few days I find water in the drum, where is it coming from? Why does my washing machine keep getting water in it when I'm not using it.?
Hi, it could be for either reasons mentiond here, to start with turn off the water inlet which is normally the taps that are connected to the two pipes [or it might be one on a newer machine] if that cures it you can either carry on using it which is perfectly safe as long as you turn off the same every time you are not using it or you can get it repaired by an engineer a fair price could be anywhere from about 拢50-拢70 but the part only costs between 拢10-拢20. If turning off the tap or taps did not stop the water filling machine then it is water backfilling from the waste pipe and all you have to do to cure this one is where the waste exits the rear of the machine at some point lift the pipe so that it is slightly higher than where it meets with your plumbing and it will stop the problem. Why does my washing machine keep getting water in it when I'm not using it.?
Hi, there's some good answers here, but thought I would just add some views as well. The water is probably seeping past the inlet valve, which isn't a major prob, as long as you pump it out before you do your wash. If your water pressure is low, water can pass through the valve, you can purchase low pressure solenoid valves, usually people living in flats can have this prob. I worked for Hotpoint and have come across this. You could shut off the valves after use, but these are usually behind the machine, so makes it awkward. if not valves, another source would be your waste pipe to low allowing water to drain back into machine, just raise it up.
sounds as if the water feed in solenoid is not closing correctly, turn the water off at the isolation valve, if that cures it you should fit a new solenoid.good luck.
Possible leaking inlet water valve, try turning the blue and red supply taps off to see if it still happens.
probably the pipe that expels the water is hanging a little low and is draining back into the drum, try raising it a little and see if this works
Maybe it has a build up off fluff. Unsrew the plastic washer pipe that connects to the water pipe. There should be a little disc in there that looks like a sieve. This traps bits of fluff etc but needs emptying from time to time or else the water doesn't drain properly.
The possible cause is the water inlet valve is passing.

Is the water outlet pipe in its own drain?, if it is then the above needs checking, or if the outlet pipe is connected to the drian via a tee connection the it is possible you are getting a back flow from you sink drain.

The best advise i would give you is to call a domestic engineer ( ask if there is a call out fee, most do not charge for call outs)

    Good look
This has happen to me, look forward to the answers you get.

  • Whats more likely to cause cotton to shrink, washing in hot or cold water?

Or is it how its dried and matters not what temp the water is.Whats more likely to cause cotton to shrink, washing in hot or cold water?
Drying shrinks it.Whats more likely to cause cotton to shrink, washing in hot or cold water?
If water temperature could shrink a fabric, it would be hot. But yes, drying is the usual culprit, although cotton doesn't shrink too often (jeans tend to 'unshrink' once you force them on again). These days, I would wash in warm/warm or warm/cold or cold/cold always. If you're drying at home, and you've run into trouble, try drying on permanent press setting which is cooler. If you're drying at a laundromat or anywhere commercial, those machines can get very hot and the perm press setting is always a better choice.
Washing it in HOT water then Drying it ...Air dry it if possible and wash it in cold water
Heat causes it to shrink- so be careful in the wash and in the dryer.
Washing in hot then putting it in the drier.
    Hot every time!
wash in hot and then put in to dryer to make something shrink

Has anyone gotten a head cold from washing their hair in cold water? during the summer?

I got a really bad one and I could not shake it off it took me about a month to shift it!Has anyone gotten a head cold from washing their hair in cold water? during the summer?
Colds are caused by a virus...not cold water. I regularly wash/rinse my hair in cold water during the summer and winter...never caught a cold from doing so.Has anyone gotten a head cold from washing their hair in cold water? during the summer?
that wouldn't cause a cold. You would have gotten an infection from someone else, not the cold water.
    Nope.

When magnesium carbonate is prepared it should wash with hot water. Why not with normal water?

MgCO3 is not very soluble in water. You didn't include enough information about how you're making it so I can't even guess as to what impurities it might contain. I can guess that there must be a major impurity such as the bicarbonate [Mg(HCO3)2] that is much more soluble in hot water than the carbonate.

Whenever there's a rinse in a synthesis, you can bet that the solvent recommended dissolves an impurity a whole lot better than what you're washing.

Does this make sense? ';Wash hands before lunch, no water necessary?';?

This is posted in my school and I don't think it is grammatically correct, someone please help me.Does this make sense? ';Wash hands before lunch, no water necessary?';?
I'm sure the intent of the poster is regarding choice and it is grammatically correct. ';Wash hands, no water necessary.'; Meaning, you can either wash your hands with soap/water or use an effective hand sanitizer that requires no water. The point is, it's just a reminder to wash your hands. It's the most effective way to lessen your chances of contracting the flu virus.Does this make sense? ';Wash hands before lunch, no water necessary?';?
The only way I could see it is if it is for hand sanitizer, but then it still isn't correct; because it should then say something like ';Use Hand Sanitizer'; or ';Sanitize Your Hands';. Are they adding soap as a flavor to your food? The soap just breaks the bonds between bacteria/dirt/microbials and your hands, water actually rinses them off your hands; you need both water and soap.
If you feel more comfortable using water to wash your hands, then I'm gonna take a gamble and say it's okay.
That doesn't make any sense to me. Maybe ask whoever put it up (possibly the school janitor) to tell you what that means.
Is it posted by a hand sanitizer? If not, then it doesn't make sense.
Why the question mark? Does it imply washing with an alcohol gel?

Why will my washing machine not fill with water?

I have a top load washer and it will only fill with about an inch of water, what could be the problem? Why will my washing machine not fill with water?
    Hello Natalie,

Your problem might be the same mine was.

    1. Turn off both water faucets

    2. Carefully remove the hoses (one at a time)

    3. Remove and clean the screens at both ends

    4. Re-attach the hoses

    5. Turn on the water

-----And you should be back in business-----Why will my washing machine not fill with water?
RoeB was on a roll, until he told you to call a repairman.

This is the proceedure that I would use - Swap back and forth

from hot to cold and see if the problem is just on one side.

If so, or not - remove the hoses at the machine and turn on the water valve and see if the water flows like it should. If it doesnt, then you know your problem is not at the washer, but

maybe the screens in the hoses at the water valves - just remove them. If the water flows well, aim the water into the valve inlets and flush them out. If they have screens, you can

replace them or just remove them. Its doubtfull that you would have the same problem on both sides, but possible. So, if

this doesnt work - replace the water solenoid valves. Not too

complicated and if so, then you will have to call for service

if you dont have a friend to help you. Next time give the brand

and go to http://appliancequickfix.com/ in case you need to know how to get at the valves. Good Luck !
in the supply hoses that send water in the machine are usually cone shaped filters. they can be at eithor end but usually at the supply origin turn off supply remove hose both ends to be sure and check to see if they are clogedwith rust sand or sediment
If it is very slow to fill to this level it is probably restriction in the water line or water valve. Try selecting warm water and see if water flows into tub as it should. If so this means your cold water or hot water line is plugged (or valve is plugged or not working properly). If this is the problem, remove the hoses clean both filters at the shut off valve and the one in the washing machine. If this does not cure problem you may have bad water solenoid. Also you could have a bad water level switch..Both of these problems should be turned over to a repairman unless you good mechanical skills

Is it better to wash you face with warm or cold water????

i have heard that warm water opens your pores so that you

can clean them and i have heard that cold water closes your pores, i have not clue which is better for you i need help!!!!!Is it better to wash you face with warm or cold water????
I wash with warm water, to open up the pores and get them clean... then at the end, i wash it with cold water, to close them back up once their clean. Is it better to wash you face with warm or cold water????
Well, warm water will open pours to clean them.
I have perfect skin, so i don't care
cold water becouse it will tone ur facial muscules and it will help ur face blood circulation.
Warm. It kills all the extra bacteria.
warm= cold water doesn't clean well enough and hot dries out the skin and can burn it
wash your face with warm water at the beginning to open pores..and then cold water to close pores =]
well, you already knw the answer. Warm opens pores so you can use your face wash and let it get in your skin. Cold water closes the pores. Just like you said!
I wash them in warm water. What you say is true. Warm opens them and cold closes them. So after I wash my face I always splash cold water on it :]
Warm water at the beginning to open up your pores and cold water at the end to close them.

In other words, use warm water before soaping up, and cold water when rinsing.
i wet my face with a hot wash cloth and hold for a mintue, apply face wash, rinse of with warm water and slash my face with cold water 3 times

  • If i wash my hair in cold water... will it make it shine more?

not sure why someone was so certain to say no right away because they are wrong.

YES, it's a secret of many top hair stylists. You can shampoo with normal temp water, but if you rinse out your conditioner afterward with cool/cold water it will leave your hair remarkably shiny, since cold water closes the cuticle %26amp; lets your hair reflect more light. i personally do it everytime i shower. If i wash my hair in cold water... will it make it shine more?
i read it on magazines..but it certainly does not make a difference..because i shower with cold water every day during summer and my hair is not in a good condition..lol

ill tell you what you could probably do to make your hair shine more, after you blow dry your hair with hot air, blow dry it again with cold air..it really works for me!If i wash my hair in cold water... will it make it shine more?
If you wash your hair in warm water, then right before you are going to get out, rinse it in cold water and it will shine more!
Try Garnier Fruictis Shine Burst Shampoo it will work! or just try the shine spray if you dont want shampoo
That's what I've heard. Plus its better for hair also.
No, I don't think so...but u could try some shampoos to make your hair shine or some people say that if u put vinegar on ur hair it helps...Maybe u should try it!!!

    Good luck!!!!!
    No
    yes
i dont think so but try it

Does washing your hands with warm water kill more bacteria?

Properly wash your hands is the best way to prevent the spread of infections, diseases, like colds, hepatitis and harmful bacterias...

    1) Wash hands after you use the restroom (no matter where you are), picking up after your pets (or someone else), changing a baby, taking out the trash,coughing/ sneezing, after handle any raw foods.

    2) Wash hands before cooking, eating, tending to a baby, elders, or sick people in the home, wash hands before placing contacts either in or taking out of eyes, wash before you apply any medications to any part of the body (yours).

    3) Use soap any type as long as you have some cause a friction with the soap don't just rub a tad and rinse this only get a tad of dirt and germs have to rub for a few seconds to get a great results.Use warm water to hot which ever is best for each person. Make sure to scrub Under the finger nails where germs love to sit and waite for a trip into a body any ones they are not choosy...

    4) Rinse well with warm water still (know some who use cold HA) dry well with a clean towel or paper towel or air dry, toss out paper or place rest in wah if need be.

There are many many bacterias in the world and more to come I';am sure so washing your hands is a great thing and a good habit to have but you can't wash all the bad away. Over washing can cause dry skin as well.Does washing your hands with warm water kill more bacteria?
yes hot waters kills more bacteria than cold water.

evidence: when a bacteria is expose to cold water the bacteria is mostly unharmed from it because the cold water only cools them down and most bacterias only freeze and can be reactive after they warm back up and order to kill them it would have to be some deep freeze what.

Hot water kills the bacteria because for some strange reason the more heat applied to bacterias the more of them die.

here's a perfect example: if you pee in a pot and boil the pee your pee is now water. to be safe most people drop a purifying pill into it
I agree that if it's hot enough to kill bacteria it's going to burn your hands.

If the water is just a little bit warm, then the bacteria may even benefit from the warmth (think about how much faster food would go bad outside of a refrigerator).
1: Don't use antibacterial soaps. They will do more harm than good.

2: The purpose of soap is to ';loosen'; them germs so you can wash them down the drain.Warm water accompanied with soap and friction from hand washing will wash the germs down the drain.
The temperature increment would make a minor difference. What actually kills the bacteria is the rubbing motion of your hands when soapy under running water. :)
Yes. Soap helps but it's actually the hot water that kills most of the bacteria.
Water hot enough to kill bacteria would burn your hands.

Dont listen to King of Kings, urine must be distilled to get pure water and not because of bacteria, but of the urea and ammonia content. Urine is a mostly sterile liquid
No it would have to be hot a certain degree to kill off bacteria

I wash my face every day before applying moisturizer, but my apartment building has hard water. Will washing my face with hard water affect it as opposed to soft water?Does washing your face with hard water affect it?
Depends of hardness degree in water. Why some homeowners install water softeners in their homes if water in their area has high degree of hardness in their water. Overly hard water will cause more dryness to skin. Shampoos, soaps don't suds up as well. I wouldn't use too light of a moisturizer in that case. A minimal amount of hardness is no problem. You can take sample of your water to have it tested for hardness like your water co. or even Sears.Does washing your face with hard water affect it?
yes it wil make your face red and take a top layers off eventually and not the ones that should be taken off like microderma abrasions it is bad for your face it ruined mine
    No

ASAP for tommorow!!! Can someone give me an artical link to how water washes off taste when you eat something? please its for science fairASAP for tommorow!!! Can someone give me an artical link to how water washes off taste when you eat something?
what are you talking about? Washes off taste? Wash taste off the food? Wash taste out of your mouth?

Two hints come to mind that may be related with what you're kind of asking.

Water is a ';bi-polar'; molecule which means it as a charge.

    Also, you can think ';dilution';.

PS... do your own research, but I've given you a couple clues.ASAP for tommorow!!! Can someone give me an artical link to how water washes off taste when you eat something?
I've never heard of that... I've heard of drinking water between foods to cleanse the pallate. But it doenst wash off the taste.
try Ask.com its a great search enjin
    Your question should be

    how water cleanses the palate

Google that and try to find the most appropriate site for your answer..

    Good luck.
First of all your question is STUPID AD IT MAKES NO SENSE AND I DONT UNDERSTAND IT anyhoo I tried looking it up but I found nothing, sorry good luck at the fair.

P.S. WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN BY: HOW DOES WATER WASH OF TASTE
    It does?
not only do you need to do your own research....water doesn't generally wash off taste.
u need to do ur own work.
    cheat cheat!, i'm telling teacher!

Muslims...you wash 5 times a day for prayer, right? Do you use only water or soap too? I've seen answers.. ?

that said water only. Do you honestly believe that is really being clean (just water I mean)? Would you go to a doctor who just rinsed with water between patients? I certainly would not. Muslims...you wash 5 times a day for prayer, right? Do you use only water or soap too? I've seen answers.. ?
So you mean that people who are muslims are dirty? Because they do the regular showering or bath and brushing teeth and personal hygiene things and on top of that, they do the additional obligatory washing which includes hands, arms mouth, nose, feet, hair and ears FIVE times a day.

And people who just wash in the morning and at night and just after the toilet are cleaner?

Muslims...you wash 5 times a day for prayer, right? Do you use only water or soap too? I've seen answers.. ?
Islam teaches us purity. Along with our daily hygiene routine like showering, brushing teeth, floss, mouthwash, muslims make wudhu 5 times a day, with water, and everytime we use the toilet, we have to wash our private parts with water as well, opposed to the normal wiping with dry toilet paper and calling that clean. In fact, wudhu isn't accepted if we use the bathroom without washing the private parts. So yes, we are clean.
The claim you make presents many fallacies and is very illogical.

Are you implying that we are dirty because we wash ourselves 5 times a day? ...in addition to the showers we take, cleansing our bodies after using the bathroom, washing before and after eating, and after we use the bathroom.

They didnt have Irish Spring and Dove 1400 years ago. They only had water. What do you expect the hadeeths to say, exactly?

Moreover, the Quran claims that we are obligated to keep ourselves clean.

';Allah loves those who turn to Him constantly and He loves those who keep themselves pure and clean.'; (2: 22)

    ';Keep your clothes clean.'; (74:4)

If you are ritually impure bathe your whole body.'; (5: 6)

    We also have the famous hadeeth that states ';Cleanliness is from faith';

Now that microbiology has taught us about microorganisms and chemistry has provided us with antibacterials, we ARE obligated to keep ourselves clean because we know what E. coli and S. aureus is.

By the way, do you know the state of cleanliness non-Mulsims (such as europeans) were in 1400 years ago. Look it up. Some of the dirtiest people ever.
Salam Yes we make wudhu before praying at least 5 times a day.We use only the fresh and clean water for wudhu if our bodies are not dirty. If several parts of our bodies are dirty we should take a bath with soap before wudhu..If just only our hands are dirty we do not take a bath just wash the hands with soap before wudhu.Islam and Allah love cleanliness,so we should make a wudhu before praying.
    water is pure.

when something is pure it cleans.

    wash [wosh, wawsh]

v (past and past participle washed, present participle wash·ing, 3rd person present singular wash·es)

    1. vt clean something: to clean something with WATER.

water does enough to clean. and its not like people

were rolling around in the mud for them to be making

    wudu with soap too
Only water. But if water isnt available then use earth (sand) even if thats not available then i think we just do the actions, not sure sorry.

why wudnt i go tto doctor who just rinsed. But dont rinse in front of patients..Keep it a secret!
we use soap every time we go to the bathroom, before eating and after..so our hands are already clean..and in wudho` we wash each part three times...so imagine how clean that can be!! already clean with soap +three times water wash x5 times aday(at least..some make more wudho for other additional prayers and reading Quran)..
The Doctor is dealing with Patients who have contagious diseases and that is why he has to use soap and anti bacterial hand foams.

For prayer we only use water and that is good enough, daily showers do not include.
well obviously i wash my hand with soap, but i dnt do my whole wudhu using soap...just water. thats why we say Bismillah before washing,, and say Ash-hadu ana laa ilaha ilallahu wahdahu la shareeka lahu, wa ash-hahu ana Muhammadan 'abduhu wa rasulu

    %26gt;%26gt;%26gt; to purify ourselves Inshallah!!
    Shower 2x a day

    soap always

    and clean water alwasy

in with the right and out with the left the filth.

I don't go to doctors I rather die.

Al Quran is my doctor Al hamdoullah
they would clean with soap as a aseptic technique (get rid of germs) .. were not doing surgery .. were praying

wudu is rinsing with water not soap
I really dont think there is anything in Quran or Hadith about needing to use soap.
5 times a day for prayers with water...but that does not include taking showers and baths...and we do that with soap.
    I use both.

    %26lt;End of story%26gt;
5 times a day for prayer BUT u can wash ur hands whenever u want to ..

  • Why won't my washing machine fill up? The water runs in and then drains out?

Is pumping it out or just draining?

Is your end of your drain hose lower than the water in the tub or did you seal up the hose to the drain?

In that case the water may be siphoning out.

I am not familiar with your brand but most washers need a place for the air to get in (anti-siphon) that is higher than the lower water level in the tub. Sealing it up to the drain also makes the drain like one long hose.

Just a guess. Good luck. Why won't my washing machine fill up? The water runs in and then drains out?
My neighbor had a problem like that with her washer. She had it on the main floor (no basement). The pipe behind it has slipped down into the crawl space, so it was draining the water as fast as it came in. Check that, if that is what happened to your, just pull it back up and fasten. Why won't my washing machine fill up? The water runs in and then drains out?
The drain hose on the back of the machine has to run up over the level of the top of the wash tub before it can be looped back down to a basement sump drain or the water will just run back out. I'll bet that's what you have, right?
If you drain hose is less than 30 inchs above the floor the water will flow out as fast as it comes in.
    Because it be broken.

The hot water trickles for my washing machine. When I open up the hot water valve all the way, the water shuts?

off completely. Any suggestions on what is wrong? The hot water trickles for my washing machine. When I open up the hot water valve all the way, the water shuts?
I would first make sure you are turning the valve the correct way. Then unplug washer, get a small bucket, turn hot water valve off.

Pull washer out away from the wall, take some adjustable pliers and unhook the hot water hose from the back of the washing machine, drop the end of the hose in the bucket to drain any water out. Take a small screwdriver and pry out the stainless steel sediment screen that is in the hot water inlet on the washer. Make sure you clean it out good with vinegar and an old toothbrush (this is the screen you took out). Now slow open and close the hot water valve while holding the hose either in the bucket or over the open lid on the washing machine.

Open and close the hot water valve several times to dislodge anything that might be stuck in the valve. If you see that hot water is running full stream now, shut hot water valve off and reinsert the screen and attach the hose.

Plug in washing machine and see if hot water is running in at a good flow now. Push washer back in place.

I am on well water and I was constantly pulling out the washer to clean out the sediment screens on both hot and cold water inlet at the back of the washer. I finally just removed the screens (2 yrs ago), I have not had any trouble with the washer as the screens are gone and water flows at full stream in the washer.

What particles used to be stopped by the sediment screen seam to just flow right through the washer pump and into the washer tub, it never was a lot it just accumulated over a couple of months which forced me to pull the washer out and clean the sediment filter.

If this does not work than I think you have a possible problem in the relay that opens the hot water valve in the washer or possibly the valve itself. The hot water trickles for my washing machine. When I open up the hot water valve all the way, the water shuts?
take the hose off of the washer and see if water flows freely out of the hose also ckeck the screens on where the hose screws on the washer if niether of these is a problem your washer has a bad inlet valve
The valve has a problem and needs to be rebuilt or replaced. This will mean you have to shut off water to the whole house. It would probably be wise to call a plumber.

I have been emptying my dehumidifier water into washing machine does this cause musty smelling towels/cloths?

i have been emptying my dehumidifier water into the washing machine. would this be the cause of musty smelling towels and dish cloths?I have been emptying my dehumidifier water into washing machine does this cause musty smelling towels/cloths?
Yes! If you want to recycle the water from your dehumidifer why not water plants with it.

Wash your towels with regular detergent and add to the water/detergent.... 1 Cup of regular baking soda... Run the cycle and use an extra rinse cycle yout towels should be fine.. Dry promptly..

good luckI have been emptying my dehumidifier water into washing machine does this cause musty smelling towels/cloths?
It is possible that your dehumidifier water has mold in it and that is causing your problem. It is more likely that you once let the washed towels sit in the wash machine too long after they are washed and before you dried them.

Unfortunately, once they get the moldy smell, it is darn near impossible to get rid of it.
It can't be helping. Try dumping it in the sink or toilet to get rid of it.

The musty smell could be caused by the towels and dish cloths staying in a warm wet place for a long enough period of time for mold %26amp; mildew to start growing. Make sure the towels %26amp; cloths are getting air circulation around them til they dry. Don't let them pile up and stay moist. Try adding about a cup of vinegar to your wash water. The vinegar %26amp; laundry soap should take care of your smelly problem.
I'm going to chime in here and say that I don't think that it would cause a musty smell. My brother had respiratory issues, so we always had a dehumidifier when I was growing up, and we used the water to water the dogs, water the plants, etc. and it always smelled just fine.
Maybe. Mold could grow in the water sitting in the dehumidifier, and then dumping it into the washing machine could cause it to grow there. Do you use really hot water to wash your towels?
Sure will. I don't understand the concept behind putting it in the washing machine. Why not just pour it down the drain?
it might...try using an addtional rinse cycle or use a dryer sheet
    YES!!

    oi!
    Yes.

Why in the world would you do that?

Wash face with warm water or cold?

hi before i clean my face with an oxy face pad should i wash it with warm water or cold and should i use any soap?

thank youWash face with warm water or cold?
Warm or hot water because it opens up your pores so you can get the medicine in the pad in your pores better.I wouldn't use soap because sometimes it can cause zits unless you use special facial soap.Hope I helped.Wash face with warm water or cold?
it doesn't matter, i suggest warm thou bc it feels better %26amp; warm water/steam help to open up pores.

if you're wearing makeup, wash it with soap, but if not, don't worry about it
warm water with soap. warm water opens your pores this gets more of the dirt and oil out with the soap, then the facepad removes any extra oil, and closes your pores so less dirt can get back in.
    warm water opens your

pores and gets the oil and dirt out of them

    cold water closes your pores

    :D
warm water. it opens up your pores so you can cleanse.
Warm tepid like water.Hot water will scald it and cold water will shock your skin.
i think its warm water cuz when i us cold water it made my skin a little rough but when i used warm water it made it softer
warm but not super hot! and you should use a cleanser depending on what type of skin you have.
    warm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I've had this problem.

Turn the gaiter around, so that the split is at the top and undamaged rubber from the top is now at the bottom.

It is a bit fiddly, but if you're strapped for cash it can be done and it worked for me.The gator has split on our washing machine.water spews out everywhere. any repair ideas?
Neither of the prices you mention are unreasonable for the job. The ';gator'; probably cost 3p to manufacture in China, but you'd still need to get the right one for your particular machine.
I would love to help....but what the hell is a 'gator'

Think about this, 拢60 call out, 拢90 for the 'gator' =拢150.00

    Plus aggravation.

You say you dont have the funds for a new machine, just like most of us....but if somehow you could just find that extra 拢50...you could actually buy a new machine with a bit of searching that has at least 12 months warrenty on it. Could be a better deal?????

    Good Luck anyway!!!
I agree turn the gator up to the top ive done this and its a bit tricky but a pair of mole grips are a must cos you need three hands without them Give itArtyo and you will see what I mean about the mole grips. You cant loose as you cant use the washer anyway

I am looking for a deck power washing company that uses their water since I have a well.Wolcott, CT?

I live in Wolcott, CT. I would like my deck power washed and then sealed. Or an estimate to build a new deck on top of the existing one. One deck is right off my back porch, and rather new. The other one is ground level and much older.I am looking for a deck power washing company that uses their water since I have a well.Wolcott, CT?
look in the yellow pages under decks you should find something in there.this way you can get some estimates.I am looking for a deck power washing company that uses their water since I have a well.Wolcott, CT?
wow if wolcott still has water problems(or should i say lack of water problems )i would suggest finding someone who can hookup to a water tank-trucked in water like for pools -never build a deck on an existing one you're only asking for problems what will you do when the base deck deteriorates and you can't see it in could be dangerous and costly
Check your yellow pages. I know there are many companies that pull a large tank behind their truck for pressure washing. You should be able to find one with a few phone calls.
contrary to popular beleif, pressure washers do not use much water. The cost of finding someone who carries their own water would not be cost efficient. If its a large deck, ask them to do portions at a time, to allow the well pump to not over heat.
power washers tend to force water into the wood fibers and actually weaken the wood. After a while you start to notice splinters forming and raised bumps. So I never use them.

I never heard of a company that carries around a water truck for power washing,,,but I could be wrong.

  • Is it possable to wash a keyboard in warm water?

AS my one has got so dirty.

cheersIs it possable to wash a keyboard in warm water?
NO. Take all the keys off with a blunt knive or a teaspoon handle. Then over a large tea towel, turn the keyboard upside down, and then give it a few good sharp taps, like you are patting someone on the back who is coughing.

You will be amazed at home much rubbish comes out. Then with a soft paintbrush brush any remaining stuff out. Then wipe all your keys down with a hot damp cloth, that is barely wet.

Before you do this, I would either take a picture of your keyboard, or print one off the internet. You will need this to put it all back together again! Is it possable to wash a keyboard in warm water?
Some keyboards are water resistant, to pretect from office coffee or tea spills. Even corn chips. Dont forget electrocution.

Just dont eat and make a mess at your office table, if your a PIG. Even snickers and M%26amp;Ms. Report Abuse

Take it down to the sea and wash it in there - salt water will do wonders for the electrical components in the keyboard!!

John Masefield even mentioned this in his now world famous poem 'Sea Fever' the opening line goes like this....

I must go down to the sea again, to the lonely sea and the sky

I left my keyboard there, and I wonder if it's dry
Yes, I washed mine in soapy water, but unfortunately it hasn`t worked since.

Although I think that may have been due to the tumble dryer.
Shore shove it inthere and let it soke for 20 min
id just turn off and use an old toothbrush dipped in water/cleaner then allow to dry
    Possible but not advisable!
Try getting a spongy thing, some washing up liquid, water, squeeze it until dryish but has some foam on it, then wipe the keyboard gently holding it upside down so that the keys are facing the floor, when done, dry the keys off with kitchen roll %26amp; wait a day or 2 incase any water got through, as if it did, it can cause a short, ruining your keyboard.
You CAN, but it's a bit of a risk. I'd just tip it upside down %26amp; tap it to dislodge all the crumbs, tobacco ash, dandruff etc. that's stuck in there, then wipe it with some form of cleaner, some people swear by those impregnated wipes but I just use a barely moist cloth.

I actually put some pensioned-off keyboards in the dishwasher once, on the basis of nothing to lose, and once they'd drained down %26amp; had a week in the airing cupboard every one of them worked! It's a hell of a gamble though.
Yes u can wash , but after washing give the keyboard to child for playing !!!!
dont put your keyboard in water but try this

    http://www.helpwithpcs.com/maintenance/c鈥?/a>
Clean cloth with small amount of cleaning solution and brush not a paintbrush it's ok to use a toothbrush.
    NNNNNNNNOOOOOO!!!!!!!

Seriously people!!! Who throws their electronics in the wash? IGNORE ALL PREVIOUS POSTS!!!!

You can take the keyboard apart GENTLY and use a gentle tissue and rubbing alcohol to clean it out, let it dry before putting it back together.
You can buy a new keyboard, for under $10 at Wal-Mart, or Biglots. You can also get a really nice one at newegg.com, for $7, or so. You'll need to get a new one, after you put water in your old one! http://www.investmental.com
Hi, I'm a qualified tech support engineer. You CAN wash it in CLEAR water but I -REALLY- don't advise it as like the other guy said you have to get rid of EVERY trace of that water and that's assuming the water doesn't get inside any leds if they're cracked/ water drops don't get in the insides, etc.

Best to open the keyboard by undoing all the screws and take out the keys and circuits (Usually pretty easy, 1 clear film and a circuit board, if in doubt write down the order of the keys or open upside down (so the keys don't fall out and jumble up)) just be careful not to rip the clear film and or disconnect any wiring.

Put the innards somewhere safe and then wash the keys individually along with the case and you'll be fine, just make sure you dry everything well.

And point of note to the guy about the coke. coke EATS (literally) keyboards, put a dirty coin in coke and watch the dirt get eaten away. That's what coke does to the electrical bits of keyboards! so if you ever spill any, clean it VERY quickly!
Either wipe it with a soft damp cloth or else buy a new keyboard. Aside from the mouse, a keyboard is one of the cheapest parts of the computer. I am about to do the same because my letters ';n'; and ';o'; have rubbed off and are now barely visible
Yes you can, but it probably won't be much use afterwards. Use a just damp cloth or a wet wipe with the pc turned off
Totally! I regularly pop mine into the dishwasher. Ensure you remove ALL electrical and electronic components (obviously) and go for it!!
You can but then you will have to leave it to dry in the sun or in a warm place.

My little brother put the TV remote in water so i let it dry and it work fine.
1 year ago i spread coke all over my laptop keyboard and then i washed it in water - it doesn't even work 1 year later correctly.
    i wouldn't think so duuhh!!!
Yes, but it should be pure water, no soap or anything like that.

Let it dry fully before you use it again as well.

Anyone who says you can't hasn't got a clue what they are on about. It's perfectly ok as long as no residue is left on the electronics - hence no soap should be used.

Water and electricity should never be mixed so make sure the thing isn't plugged in to anything and likewise make sure it has dried completely before you plug it back in. Leave it hanging for 24 to ensure it is dry.

Washing hair by hot water cause hair loss and dry because the chemical in hot water, is it true?

I heard that they will put the chemicals to make hot water.Washing hair by hot water cause hair loss and dry because the chemical in hot water, is it true?
No that's definately untrue.Electric or gas water heaters are what makes the water hot not chemicals.Washing hair by hot water cause hair loss and dry because the chemical in hot water, is it true?
    Bs!
No. I think you mean ';hard water';. But the heat of the water can damage you hair. That's why you shouldn't straighten your hair everyday.
uhh there shouldn't be any chemicals in water...and if its true then when u take a shower w/ hot water ur hair will fall out...it hasn't fallen yet has it? i dont think it will..its probably bull $#!+....
NO!!!! It does not cause hair loss..... it doesnt help the dryness if you flat iron or blow dry your hair though. Using cold water does have more benefits though... such as making your hair shinier.
Not because of the chemical but because of the stress of the heat. Also washing your hair to much is very bad because it wil dry out your hair. Think about it for a sec, your hair is dead cells right, so by heating them up your damaging them. They dont put chemicals in to make water hot, they put them in to bring water up to code.

Does washing your hair with cold water or warm water make a difference?

Sorry if the question sounds really dumb... but my hair is really dry and brittle, and I've been looking for a way to fix it. I don't live in the States, so it's kind of hard for me to go to a salon and get a TR and stuff.Does washing your hair with cold water or warm water make a difference?
Your question is not dumb at all!

I have been told that you should use warm water to wash your hair but then just before you are finished, that you should turn the taps to cold water. This helps your hair to be shiny.

Just another tip for your dry and brittle hair. This came right from my hairstylist, do not wash your hair to often. That way your natural grease in your hair will help to repair some of the dryness.Does washing your hair with cold water or warm water make a difference?
Ok,yeah im a hairdresser now you must first of all and this is why you have dry and brittle hair is because you wash your hair two many times a week hair must be lathered twice with shampoo every time you have a shower but you must only have a shower again twice a week i wash my hair every monday and thursday with shampoo and if i want to wash my hair any other day i would but i wouldn't use any shampoo just wash with water, also when washing your hair lather it twice first wash with warm water because it will open your hair follicle and this will clean the hair strands then rinse your hair with cold water as for this closes the hair follicle and wont cause your hair ti frizz, and don't forget that your hair is most weak when wet so don't brush your hair when its wet keep it up in a towel until no more water should be on your hair then gentle start brushing your hair from the bottom and work your way up to your roots also get yourself a leave in moisturizers from your hairdressers something you could leave in after your shower no need to wash it OKs i hope i have strangely answer your answer good luck.
Salons where you can get a professional hair treatment are everywhere, not only in the u.s. I don't go to have treatments there but i go to salons to buy kerastase deep conditioning masks which i recommend to you too. As for your question, yes washing with water that is warm or cold makes the difference. Don't use hot water, you'll further damage your hair and besides become more likely to get a cold, if you live in a place low temperatures occur. Rinse your shampoo off with warm water. That will help the conditioner you apply after, to penetrate the hair well. Cover your hair with a towel to allow the conditioner to absorb very well into the hair, heat makes it perfect. After that rinse it with not really cold water, but not warm too. You know like in between. I never saw improvement by washing with really cold water as i read from many sources, so i advice you to keep it in between for the final step.
washing hair with cold water is the best otion for you as you have dry and brittle hair and then use a good conditioner after it.. but if you still want to use the warm water for hair wash then try to keep it as mildly warm as possible.. to avoid the loss of natural hair oil (you can observe that the hair sheen is always less after a warm hair wash).. and then after follow with a good conditioner..
    definitely.

i read online somewhere that cold water makes your hair shiny so i tried it, and it definitely works. hot water encourages frizz and fluff, while cold water smooths the hair cuticle down and promotes shine. also for extra shine buy a good hair treatment, best from a salon, annd rinse that out with cold water as well.

and if you dont like cold water, just use it to wash out your conditioner instead of both shampoo and conditioner.

but yes, it makes a big difference
Always use conditioner and cold water will better moisturize your hair.

It doesn't have to be ice cold. Just as cold as you feel comfortable with. And you can have it warm for most of the time and just make the water colder for the last minute or two. It's better for your skin as well.
What your supposed to do is wash it with warm water. (whatever temperature you shower too)

    then condition it.

leave the conditioner in for at least a minute and not more than 3-4.

then the last rinse should be cold, so that it will close the cuticle and make it shine :]
Well cold water is probably better, it keeps the color in %26amp; gives it a shine, so I'm guessing it also wouldn't be as damaging.
washing your hair with warm/Hot water helps open the hair follicle and rinsing with cold/cool water helps to close it back down. Less frizz %26amp; crazy fly aways
no i don't think so. answer mine: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>
Um..... apparently it is good to just rinse your hair in cold water. just quickly, but yeh the rest just wash it with warm water
WASHING WITH COLD WATER IS SUPPOSED TO BE GOOD FOR IT :)
if the water is way way way hot it is not good, but otherwise it doesn't matter. Cold water does add shine though.

Why is there no water pressure in my washing machine when it fills?

When my clothes washer fills with water...At first it comes out normal, then after a minute or so it slows down to a trickle. It takes about an hour to wash a load of laundry! It can't be a clog if it comes out fine at first, right??? Does anyone know what could be wrong and could I possibly fix it myself? It is a 9 year old Kenmore 80 Series if that helps. The problem started approx. 4 months ago and I can't take it anymore!!!Why is there no water pressure in my washing machine when it fills?
The problem IS plugged screens at the inlet of water valve on both sides ( hot and cold) There are screens also ( some-times at either ends of the fill hoses) Change these and wash-a -rama !! If screens are not plugged( doultful) change out water valve. Why is there no water pressure in my washing machine when it fills?
Are you set for warm water , hot water or cold? some will run in faster and others slower due to going through a mix valve.I don't quite understand why the flow would change during filling unless you are changing the temp settings.
Smart lady! It isn't a real clog. The relay that lets the water in opens and then partially closes. They are located on the back of the machine. It is the unit that the hoses connect to. You need to replace the whole thing. They are pretty much generic. Take it off and compare. Hardware store, Sears, Appliance parts store, appliance salvage. AND YES, I HAVE CONFIDENCE THAT YOU CAN REPLACE IT YOURSELF.
is the water pressure to the rest of your house low?

I would tend to agree with Grounded. Turn the water off using the shut-off valves to the hot/cold washer supply lines, use a pliers to remove the supply lines at the back of the washer. Look where the supplies connected to the washer - there will be a filter screen at both the hot and cold connections at the washer. You probably have mineral deposits etc. that are clogging the screens. Clean off the screens. Put both supplies into a bucket and flush them by turning the hot and cold valves on for 2 or 3 seconds, this will flush out any remaining debris in the supply line itself. Reconnect the supplies securely to the washer inlets, turn the valves on and check for leaks, tighten as required.
Have you checked the hoses? We had a valve go out on a hose and we paid big bucks to have a repairmen look at it. He couldn't figure it out for an hour! The machine turned out to be fine, and all we did was change out the hot water hose. I'd check those first.

    Good Luck.
It's either a kink in the supply line or it's clogged with lint in the washer itself.

This is an easy way to find out where the problem is... turn off the water supply, unhook it from the washer and put the end of the hose in a bucket or the sink. Then turn it back on... if the water is flowing fine viola, inside the washer is the problem. Water trickling, supply line clogged. Then at least you'd know you have to call the Kenmore repair guy or a plumber! :)

Sometimes the water lines lose their rigidity, and they will basically suck closed as the water pressure builds, hence the fine start up and then slowing to a trickle. So if the water won't flow through the supply lines, unhook them and take to Home Depot for replacements (take them with you so you know what size to get). Easy, cheap fix, worth a try first.
if the screens are actually on the valve DO NOT CLEAN them. OEMs dont want these cleaned if they are dirty, they are to be changed. The reason why you ask, great heres the answer.

Water valves open by an electric current sent to a magnet that opens the valve. It then relies on the water pressure to close that valve. So if the screens are dirty then you could possibly dislodge some of the garbage and put it in the valve causing the valve not to close. FLOODED FLOOR....

Change the water valve and you should be good to go.
