Yes, but I wouldn't recommend it. You can screw the hot hose from the washing machine onto the hose bib on the bottom of the water heater, but that's where all the trash is and you could mess your clothes up. Besides, it's better to wash in cold.

yes,hook it to the drain line on the water heater ,no pipe to cut or soldering to do.but since it's a drain all the trash in the water heater will settle out into the bottom and all over the cloths.so purge the junk out before you hook up ,hook the water hose to the drain and take it outside let it run about a minuet,that should clean it out. if you use it regularly it probably won't have to be purged again,hook up the washer and go.

I would stay simple %26amp; hook it to a cold faucet if you have one. Hooking to the bottom of the heater will just get you cold water most of the time.
This needs to be plumbed into the water supply through your present water pipes. Get a plumber or else you may flood your property or atleast damage your pipes. This will then result in even more expense.
wash in cold water...the clothes get just as clean and you save a lot of money on fuel.
